Twenty-five games, thirty years, over eighty ports—whatever the number, there've been a heck of a lot of games based on The Simpsons. The story of the animated sitcom that tried to make it in video games is a long and sordid tale, now collected here in the unauthorized retrospective for your reading pleasure.

Originally written in 2019-2020, Bart vs. My Hopes & Dreams is the culmination of nearly two decades of fan obsession by a man who wouldn't let Simpsons video games fumble gently into that good night. With detailed critiques from a longtime writer and game industry veteran, as well as collected insights from the original creators, this is the most complete look at every Simpsons video game ever made.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Your passion and knowledge of the subject shines through. It's really well written and I particularly liked how you weaved the arc of the franchise's journey in video games with your own personal experiences, from playing the first game in a video arcade as a kid to writing walkthroughs, creating a fansite, and ultimately getting to actually work on the game at Electronic Arts. In fact, it's this personal background tied to the history of each game that makes this book such a compelling and worthwhile read. Highly recommended. Well done!
